Jenny Garing and Ground Gourmet Essentials - Welcome
Having survived the devastating earthquake on 22 February 2011 that resulted in the demolition of the Ground Culinary Centre in Lyttelton, Jenny Garing is now focussing on building the Ground products range while still providing Ground cooking classes.
Ground Gourmet Essentials produces a range of hand-ground spice blends and condiments. Exotic spices are ground in a traditional mortar and pestle to make authentic blends from the Middle East, Asia, and the Pacific. These spice blends and pastes and other enticing goodies, are made from a kitchen overlooking the beautiful Lyttelton Harbour. Find them at the Lyttelton Farmers' Market every Saturday along with fresh hummus, salads, pestos and sandwiches- and occasionally local fresh goat meat from Otaranui Farm!
